Solutions Design Analyst / New York

Axiom

Axiom, a modern alternative to the traditional law firm, is the largest and fastest growing provider of managed legal services to F500 companies. We're a new category of firm that applies best practices from other industries and a better business model to help clients do legal work intelligently. Our streamlined cost-structure and deep expertise in the business of law help General Counsel solve problems and manage their departments more effectively.

Managed Services

Axiom’s most strategic and fastest growing line of business is our Managed Services division.  At the heart of Axiom’s innovation agenda, Managed Services is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing Axiom’s complex project and outsourcing solutions.  Unlike Management Consulting firms, the Managed Services team at Axiom is charged with building, implementing, and executing – not just advising.  This critical distinction is what has attracted an incredibly talented team made up of partners and consultants from leading strategy consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG), pioneers from the world of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and experts in cutting edge technologies and systems.

Staffed with the most talented team in the legal industry, Managed Services partners with our F500 clients to identify legal processes and activities that can be effectively outsourced to Axiom.

What we’re looking for

This is an opportunity for the right strategic problem solver with strong analytical and quantitative skills to pursue a role with the opportunity to impact a dormant, 100-year old legal industry.

Because Managed Services is fast growing and dynamic, we’re looking for someone who will thrive in such an environment.  On the one the hand, someone excited by the “start up” mindset, but also someone comfortable with role fluidity and a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude – this is not “business-as-usual.”

Candidates interested in this role will likely be interested in management consulting, business strategy, and product development roles.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Product Strategy
  • Consulting/solutions design
  • Project Management/implementation

Product Strategy

  • Contribute to building Axiom’s proprietary Intellectual Property (research, capabilities assessment tools, client value proposition)
  • Assist in the development of appropriate sales materials and proposals – working with Axiom’s sales force to assist in the development of specific client opportunities
  • Lead and contribute to the modification and development of new capabilities to accommodate new service offerings.
  • Assist in the global pricing strategy for managed services by developing pricing tools and contributing to the discussion of outsourcing economics and profitability.

Consulting/Solutions Design

  • Be responsible for owning and driving material work streams on client diagnostic efforts within current and prospective F500 clients, leveraging Axiom proprietary tools, methodologies, and intellectual property.  These diagnostics will combine surveys, data collection and analysis, interviews, and other qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Based on diagnostic findings, the Analyst will work with other members of the Managed Services team to develop hypotheses and recommendations for high priority areas of improvement for client’s legal department.
  • Working with more senior members of the Managed Services team, apply Axiom best practices to specific client situations to help design an improved outsourcing-based model, including modifications to a client’s current workflows, team structures, processes, and tools that will deliver significant improvements in quality, cost, and service levels.
  • Contribute to internal discussions on performance of and ongoing improvements to current outsourcing based teams and work closely with sales teams in managing sales pipeline and revenue reporting

Project Management/Implementation

  • Provide project management leadership as needed at the outset of a new client project to ensure new engagements get off to a strong start.
  • Assist Axiom’s delivery team in overseeing ongoing implementations.

Our ideal candidate

This position is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, goal orientation and a demonstrated pattern of strong, practical problem solving skills.  We are looking for someone who exhibits an outstanding work ethic and professionalism, who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performing environment, and who is highly credible with senior client executives. In addition, the ideal candidate will have solid business acumen and a strong orientation towards understanding and improving business processes.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative capabilities
  • Basic financial modeling a plus
  • Relentless focus on client’s needs and consistently raises the bar on service excellence
  • Project management experience and meticulous attention to detail
  • Superb time management, judgment, decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Thrives in both individual and collabourative team environments
  • Expert high-impact communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (including PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio)
  • Organizational fit for the Axiom culture; that is, exhibit the core values of Irresistible, Fresh, Committed, & Thoughtful
    • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Axiom, a revolution in the legal industry and one of the nation’s fastest growing private companies, is seeking an Analyst, Service Control, for Axiom Managed Services based in New York, Houston, Chicago or Belfast.

Who We Are

Founded in 2000, Axiom saw the need to rethink the way legal services were delivered. Today, Axiom comprises a team of 1,000 across 11 client service offices and 4 delivery centers on 3 continents and has grown at 50%+ CAGR since inception. Axiom serves nearly half of the F100, and has 90% client retention. Our clients include Cisco, Google, Honeywell, NBC, Avon, Yahoo! and many of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Axiom’s process and technology driven model delivers legal and compliance processes with tighter risk management, better service, and lower cost.

In recognition of the above, The Financial Times’ 2012 Innovative Lawyers Report recognized Axiom as the leader in “The Business of Law” and “The Most Innovative Firm in Corporate Strategy.” Axiom’s unique approach has also been recognized by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Forbes, and BBC. For more information, please visit our website, www.axiomlaw.com.

  • Finds excitement in exploring opportunities to introduce technology to our operations
  • Has a keen eye for detail but understands the big picture and can communicate both
  • Is someone others can depend on and with whom they will enjoy working

Axiom Law | London Careers — Solutions Design Associate

Solutions Design Associate / London

  • Based on diagnostic findings, the Associate will work with other members of the Managed Services team to develop hypotheses and recommendations for high priority areas of improvement for client’s legal department.

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience with a top-tier Management Consulting firm or a similar role within F500, other professional services

    • Basic financial modeling a plus

    • Expert high-impact communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (including PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio)
  • Organizational fit for the Axiom culture; that is, exhibit the core values of Irresistible, Fresh, Committed, & Thoughtful
    • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Axiom Law | New York Careers — Solutions Design Associate

Solutions Design Associate / New York

  • Based on diagnostic findings, the Associate will work with other members of the Managed Services team to develop hypotheses and recommendations for high priority areas of improvement for client’s legal department.

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience within a top-tier Management Consulting firm or a similar role within F500, other professional services organization

Axiom Law | London Careers — Strategy and Delivery Manager, Client Projects

Strategy and Delivery Manager, Client Projects / London

Axiom, a new model professional services firm in the legal industry, is seeking a Strategy and Delivery Manager, Client Projects to join our Managed Services team.  Managed Services is the fastest-growing part of Axiom, and is responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of Axiom’s projects and outsourced legal service offerings.

Who We Are

Founded in 2000, Axiom saw the need to rethink the way legal services were delivered. Today, Axiom comprises a team of 1,000 across 11 client service offices and 4 delivery centers on 3 continents and has grown at 50%+ CAGR since inception. • Managing and implementing large scale, complex projects or multiple, smaller scale projects.  The projects will entail either managing a client-facing deliverable or launching an outsourcing deployment.
  • As such, the Strategy and Delivery Manager will manage the project from scoping and requirements development through deployment.  The Strategy and Delivery Manager will be asked to:
    • Develop and manage a project plan
    • Conduct resource planning

Axiom Law | New York Careers — Strategy and Delivery Manager, Client Projects

Strategy and Delivery Manager, Client Projects / New York

Axiom serves nearly half of the F100, and has 90% client retention. Our clients include Cisco, Google, Honeywell, NBC, Avon, Yahoo! and many of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Driving much of this growth is Axiom’s Managed Services division – a recognized pioneer in delivering Managed Legal Solutions.  Indeed, the Legal and Compliance industries have historically lacked a delivery model that integrates both legal know-how and operational excellence. In-house departments tend to be sub-scale, law firms lack process DNA, and traditional BPO providers lack legal know-how. Axiom’s process and technology driven model delivers legal and compliance processes with tighter risk management, better service, and lower cost.  Unlike Management Consulting firms, the Managed Services team at Axiom is charged with building and executing – not just advising.  This critical distinction is what has attracted an incredibly talented team made up of partners and consultants from leading strategy consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG), pioneers from the world of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and experts in cutting edge technologies and systems.

What We’re Looking For

This is a truly rare opportunity for a strong problem solver with excellent client relationship skills who wants to help drive innovation in a rapidly changing legal environment.  The legal landscape is on a precipice of change, and Axiom is very much at the forefront of this movement. Candidates interested in this role will likely be interested in client delivery, management consulting, business strategy, and product development roles.

Responsibilities include:

Solutions Design:

  • Helping lead client diagnostic efforts, especially of both buy and sell side commercial contracts functions, within current and prospective F500 clients, leveraging Axiom proprietary tools, methodologies, and intellectual property.  These diagnostics will combine surveys, data collection and analysis, interviews, and other qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Based on diagnostic findings, identifying high priority areas for improvement for client’s legal departments.
  • Applying Axiom Managed Contracts solutions best practices to specific client situations to enable the outsourcing of client work, including modifications to a client’s current workflows, team structures, processes, and tools that will deliver significant improvements in quality, cost, and service levels.
  • Participating in early-stage sales activities, which are led by the Axiom Practice Management team, as a “subject matter expert” and practitioner within our Managed Services team broadly and with deep expertise in our Managed Contracts Services.
  • Working in conjunction with the Axiom Practice Management team, building client understanding, confidence, and enthusiastic acceptance for proposed solutions, resulting in Axiom winning the proposed work.

Project Delivery and Management:

  • Managing and implementing large scale, complex projects or multiple, smaller scale projects.  The projects will entail either managing a client-facing deliverable or launching an outsourcing deployment.
  • As such, the Strategy and Delivery Manager will manage the project from scoping and requirements development through deployment.  The Strategy and Delivery Manager will be asked to:
    • Develop and manage a project plan
    • Conduct resource planning
    • Identify risks and issues and develop appropriate mitigation plans
    • Proactively manage and monitor execution of deliverables and status
    • Manage critical path, dependencies, and contingencies
    • Ensure the project stakeholders' expectations are understood and managed, and
    • Ensure that the project team follows all quality assurance processes
  • Contributing to building Axiom’s proprietary Intellectual Property in the rapidly changing Managed Contracts Services business area.
  • Operating within a collabourative environment with highly motivated colleagues and interact with all parts of the business, including Lawyer Hiring & Professional Development and all corporate functions (marketing, finance, HR, IT, etc.).  Lead and contribute to altering and developing new internal workflows to accommodate new service offerings.
  • Being comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Embodying and living our core values to foster our unique culture.

Our ideal candidate

This position is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, goal orientation and a demonstrated pattern of strong, practical problem solving skills, who exhibits an outstanding work ethic and professionalism, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-performing environment, and is highly credible with senior client executives.
